Mint(Pudina) Mint or mentha species belongs to the Lamiaceae family, which contains around 15 to 20 plant species , including peppermint and spearmint. Peppermint is a hybrid of Spearmint and Watermint and are thus similar. Peppermint contains more menthol so has a stronger smell , slightly dark in color and has less hairy leaves than spearmint.
